Bookkeeper/ Payroll Administrator

Recent growth has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward thinking individual in our progressive accountancy practice.

This is a mixed role, covering payroll processing, some bookkeeping and general office administration.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Must have experience with payroll processing, including the maintenance of pension filings and HMRC reporting requirements.

Experience of working in a busy office with a strong client service ethos.
Experience with Brightpay and Moneysoft payroll software.

Experience with Xero and QuickBooks Online software.

A proactive approach to problem solving and the development of better systems and procedures.
SKILLS
Strong organisational skills with a systematic approach to problem solving.

Excellent time management skills, with an ability to prioritise, plan, and organise day to day activities ensuring that tight deadlines and objectives are achieved.

Ability to communicate technical information in a clear, confident, and polite way.

Ability to communicate in writing and on the telephone/web-based conferencing channels.

Ability to undertake a wide range of administrative procedures.

Excellent numerical and literacy skills in order to undertake a range of tasks.

Provide administrative support to ensure efficient administration of the office.

High standards of accuracy and attention to detail.

Personal qualities and skills:

Our top person is highly motivated! They have brilliant communication skills so that they can deal with colleagues and customers in a polite and friendly way – face to face, over the phone and by email. They have excellent organisational skills – managing their own time, prioritising their workload, staying calm under pressure, and always being on time for work. They have great observational skills and listen to instruction. And they are proactive and creative!

Our ideal Client Manager has great IT skills and is confident working with Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Ideally, they have experience with Xero.

This new opportunity is to support our Managing Director by preparing accounts ready for review, complete with draft accounts, supporting schedules, and draft tax computations. There is, however, much more potential for the right candidate.

Qualifications:

The role would suit an ACA or ACCA qualified individual, with 5 years’ experience in practice, who wants to take on additional responsibilities in a growing firm.
