Congratulations to Reece, who passed his Accounts Preparation exam for level 3 AAT. Brilliant work!
Our Team Meeting had an extra special something this week … it seems that ‘secret’ Santa had visited! (although most of us had guessed who ‘he’ was!)
We wish you all a very Happy Christmas, and a peaceful and prosperous New Year. We will be here, raring to go in 2016, ‘Making Lives Better’.
Brad passed his level 3 AAT exam for preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts. He now has just one more exam left to finish his level 3 – which he should sit at the beginning of February.
Rachael gained an amazing 98% on her last assignment – which bodes well for the classification of her Business and Management degree.
We recently implemented some tax planning for a client and they were delighted when we were able to give them a cheque for £14,000 on Monday.
We finally managed to release a tax refund in excess of £17,000 for a client, 20 months after the original claim for repayment was submitted! We never give up!
Annual tax savings of £19,560 were identified for a local business simply by changing their trading entity. That’s an extra £376 a week into their pocket.
Both Steve and Andy saw the results of their unrelenting pursuit of HMRC this week.
Steve received a letter from HMRC confirming that a client’s PAYE liability was indeed £30K too high, due to “an issue with [HMRC]’s software. Shame they didn’t admit this before issuing bankruptcy proceedings last Summer!!
Our client finally received a £17K tax refund. £3k of this related to April 2014!! That’s 20 months to issue a refund. It’s quicker to have a baby!!
A client got a £14K cheque from HMRC last week. Since this only took four months to produce, we report this as “normal” good news!
Congratulations to our clients Toby and Helen, who celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last week.
We are progressing well with our tax returns! Which balloon is yours? (Have you sent in your tax return info?!)
A client has taken on a new, very good bookkeeper. She has prepared the first VAT returns for the company, using SAGE. By drilling down into the detail, Steve managed to save over £3,000 by applying a more advantageous VAT scheme, and claiming for pre-registration input VAT.
“We can fulfil our making lives better agenda even for good clients with good team members”, concludes Steve.
Rachael is continuing to do well in her Business and Management degree. Her latest assignment gave her a whopping 91% score, and Numbers (UK) Ltd are already benefitting from her studies!
